I have decade long friendships and a spousal relationship where I discover new insights of what/how/why almost every day. People aren’t a singular snapshot so let’s honor, recognize or seek to understand accordingly.

I walked away with several notes from this morning’s discussion on race and business, even as a panelist. I am always amazed when astute leaders from other cities/states speak the same language that I do and that we have similar goals and approaches. #AdvancingOklahoma

One thing I wanted to add or clarify before we ran out of time. When I reference a traditional economic development model that largely focuses on corporate assurance while small businesses, too are drivers of our economy — this isn’t an either-or position. #AdvancingOklahoma

Large-scale enterprises, or corporations, create market value through the development or diversification of goods and services; job creation that can offer sustainable wages and healthcare; and large investments in physical assets. #AdvancingOklahoma

In addition, while the implementation and impact of corporate responsibility widely varies, there’s never been a time like before where both our public and private sectors are engaging at a minimum.. #AdvancingOklahoma

..collaborating and committing substantial investment and human capital towards social and environmental issues. I do not recommend deviation from a viable strategy that has created overall economic growth. #AdvancingOklahoma

I do however believe that we are in urgent need of additional strategies & tools that help us remain relevant and competitive. My perspective focuses on the differentiation & necessity of developing unrealized potential; identifying & retaining current assets… #AdvancingOklahoma

and attracting new ones. Lastly, as we strive for a stronger diverse business environment we have to consider how quality education, housing, healthcare and other basic societal functions create one that is healthy. #AdvancingOklahoma
