Norder Supply Agronomists recommend that farmers avoid planting until weather conditions improve. Soil temperatures are in the low 40’s and falling with the below freezing temperatures overnight. It will take a few warm, sunny days to get soil temperatures back up.

Top inch of soil is baked dry, meaning herbicide not in solution for root absorption by weeds. Corn and bean seeds may be in moisture, but rain or irrigation is necessary if herbicides have been applied to keep fields weed free.

Last rain was not widespread. Some farmers in the area may need to irrigate later this week, but don’t be over zealous. Too much water will saturate profile, which will leach precious nutrients, push herbicide below weed germination zone, and slow microbial activity.

The 16th South Shrine Bowl roster introduction. Meet-Easton Weber, the 4th player to represent bds_eagles in the Nebraska Shrine Bowl. Easton was a consensus all-state selection. He was rated as the top player in class D2 by Huskerland. #NSB65 #RiseandShrine #Morethanagame
