"God is Dead" is a sculpture created between 2021 and 2025. It is perhaps the first truly monumental work by Matteo Mauro. Sculpted in white Carrara marble, with references to the desolate Christ deposed by Matteo Bottiglieri, 1724, in the Duomo of Capua, and to the Veiled Christ
