The unbelievable condescension we’re already seeing today towards working class people- suggesting they don’t travel to Europe or their kids might not want to go to university and study in Europe- is quite something to behold.

Newsnight: “Would you say the Conservative Party are still the party of business?” Tory shadow minister: “They certainly are…” Newsnight: “Before you go on…” Brilliant.

We’ve been hearing a lot about the superiority of English culture lately. I’m a proud Englishman, but the scenes in Bilbao should give us pause for thought before we build ourselves up too much.

"Stand up in front of the nation, Keir Starmer and say 'we got it wrong'." Matthew Stadlen says the presentation of the winter fuel cut roll-out and the row back shows a Labour government with a comms issue. Dawn Neesom | Rob Rinder | #JeremyVine

Wanting the government to do well for the country and being appalled at the possibility of a Farage/Reform win in 2029 means constructive criticism when Starmer and his teams get it wrong. The winter fuel allowance policy was a mistake. So were thecomms around the u-turn.
