Apparently, after a few months of delay, Stadler has completed the construction of the first of 56 new trainsets they are building for the meter gauge Circumvesuviana network. They should enter service sometime next year. A much needed overhaul of the fleet.

The Hope Valley Upgrade began in 2021. The Network North plan was announced in October 2023. And so many of the NN plans are just that, plans. Still unfunded and unconfirmed.

#HS2 funding cannot be reallocated.

It is money the was to be borrowed for a specific project, against national debt on the basis of seeing economic returns as shown in the business case.

❌Cancelling HS2 has no benefit for spending on other projects.

So the ECML is now flooded quite badly at Killingworth (not my pic).
