Time to start negotiations for how much of this I can get to. I’m thinking the Saturday looks like the main day to secure, what do other groundhoppers recommend?

Nice to see Harrogate Railway going well. Not least because my kid’s various clubs are limiting where I can get out #groundhopping. It was the very definition of a hard fought win tonight as they clung on to a 1-0.

Keep hearing plenty of complaints about Premier League teams being more direct, but I think everyone secretly likes it when someone on your team can launch a throw-in into the box. It was such a threat for Harrogate Railway Athletic FC I managed to film the only goal of their game tonight.

My current ‘next in line to read’ shelf, plus obligatory inclusion of my own books. I’m not planning to read those again because it’s too late to edit anything, just wanted to encourage you to add them to your own reading pile in a none too subtle way.

Another side effect of York being promoted to the Super League is getting to hone your impression of a referee at play-the-ball when using the ring road away from Monks Cross. Move!!

Somehow through the vagaries of signing my daughter up to her football team, I’ve managed to get myself listed as a player for an u10s girls team on Teamer.

And for anyone seeing this for the first time, it’s not a response to Arteta’s Arsenal. It’s all about how I swapped Premier League for non-league a few years ago.

So I get to watch #EnglandRL on TV, I’ve told the kids we’re having a 90s day, recreating a classic day of Grandstand. To go with it I’ve curated a questionable YouTube playlist featuring kabbadi, 2Unlimited and Mr Blobby. What else should I add?

Reminder that social media isn’t always terrible. Instagram’s random algorithm sent the Roller Derby gig at The Hyde Park Book Club my way. Ideal gig given my car radio is usually tuned to some 80s station or another. Strong vocals and dreamy pop. Check them out.

Missed another Vase game, as this was as near to a football ground my son was prepared to go. I did wonder what the view of Ilkley Town’s ground was like from the cow and calf rocks when I went. Needed binoculars to make any sense of proceedings. No tick.

I must be selling more of these than I am visiting new grounds at the moment, with another restock. Keep buying them so I can try and convince Mrs C that going to more games promotes the book and pays for itself!

After being interviewed about groundhopping today, I’m proving to be as good at racking up games as Abou Diaby. Tonight’s excuse is not wanting to aggravate a back injury driving to a game.
