Feeling very lucky to have spent time with this amazing animal while recently in Kenya. The world’s fastest land mammal is racing toward extinction. Their population was 100,000 in 1900 and today they number less than 7,000. Shot with: Canon R5, Canon EF 600mm f4 III

True to the name, the Little Bee-eater is the smallest bee-eater in the world. They make up for their small size by showing off incredible aerial acrobatics in the pursuit of catching bees and wasps in flight. Shot with: Canon R5, Canon EF 600mm f4 III

The Secretary Bird is an iconic African bird that stands nearly four feet tall. They primarily move around on foot and fly only when necessary. We came across this one and were able to watch it fly to the nest in a nearby tree. Shot with: Canon R5, Canon EF 600mm f4 III

The Long-crested Eagle is a super unique eagle with a long, floppy crest on top of its head. We watched this one hunting for prey in the early morning. Shot with: Canon R5, Canon EF 600mm f4 III

The wild elephants of Kenya's Samburu National Reserve cake themselves in dirt to protect their hides from insects and the intense heat. It was fun watching this mom teaching her baby how to get it into all the right place in some soft early morning light.

The Tawny Eagle is a large eagle of African deserts and savannas, with a wingspan up to 6 feet in width. This bird is a light morph and was hunting in Samburu National Reserve when we came across it for some great looks. Shot with: Canon R5, Canon EF 600mm f4 III

The Vulturine Guineafowl is often referred to as the "royal guineafowl”. They’re named for their bald head and neck, which resembles a vulture, but also notice the chestnut feathers on the back of the head. Shot with: Canon R5, Canon EF 600mm f4 III

Red-shouldered Hawks eat mostly small mammals, lizards, snakes, and amphibians. They hunt from perches below the forest canopy, sitting silently until they sight their prey below. Shot with: Canon R5, Canon EF 600mm f4 III #birding #birdwatching #BirdTwitter #wildlife #nature

The Crowned Lapwing's striking appearance, with a black-and-white crown, and bright red bill and legs, is matched by its equally loud and striking call. Shot with: Canon R5, Canon EF 600mm f4 III #birding #birdwatching #BirdTwitter #wildlife #nature

At the Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center in Port Aransas, TX, a male yellow warbler perches briefly, his vivid plumage a fleeting burst of gold against the green. A quiet moment with one of nature’s most delicate wonders.
