NEW in AJPH:

Julie Pacheco, Sarah Gollust, Timothy Callaghan, and I argue that the inclusion of Party ID in PH surveys (across many sectors) can enrich our understanding of health inequities and their political determinants.

Raw milk consumers aren't stupid.

I discuss with The Associated Press/NBC News why they're likely *motivated* by distrust in govt./sci. & viral fit. crazes to drink raw milk.

IMO: promoting pasteurization benefits (over raw risks) and policy bans can address this looming health threat.

While I share concerns about privacy, misinfo., & addiction -- I talked w/nature about how a TikTok ban could not only stymie the promotion of sci. research, but those who use the platform to study social phenomena & disseminate evidence-based medicine.

Lyme-causing bacteria have been found in fossilized ticks ~20M years old.

I discuss in Soc Sci & Medicine how this theory 'has legs' not only b/c it appeals to govt. distrust, but conveniently challenges the role of clim. change in spreading Lyme to new areas.

New from me for Boston University -- I discuss awesome new work from Zander Furnas & Tim LaPira about partisan asymmetries in reliance on sci. research in the policymaking process, and what it says about the health of American governance.

Prospective PhD students have until Monday to decide where they want to study!

My new piece in Research & Politics with Dominik Stecuła may be informative. It shows that programs that pay their students better place more of them into tenure-track jobs. A brief 🧵 1/

Coverage of our work w/Dominik Stecuła & G. Motta in USA TODAY on how negative attitudes toward (human) vaccination may be spilling over to how Americans feel about vaccinating their pets, and the potential health policy consequences of canine vax. hesitancy.
