Endangered white clawed crayfish have been given a new home on University land thanks to a rescue mission led by @EnvAgencyNE. One of the few remaining populations in Yorkshire was affected by a disease called crayfish plague, which can be passed on by invasive signal crayfish.

Those rescued, including females carrying eggs, have been moved to Bodington pond where they will be able to thrive and breed. Hear Professor Alison Dunn speak about the project and find out what you can do to keep white-clawed crayfish safe 👇
