Tribalism in Nigeria did not start today, it was more prevalent during the colonial rule and was carried into independence, The likes of Nnamdi Azikiwe to Obafemi Awolowo and Ahmadu Bello promoted passionate desire for hegemony in relation to their different tribes.

From different political and tribal alignment in the 1960 to the full blown Nigeria civil war (Biafra war), Division was institutionalized. Decades later, we are still paying the price through mistrust and weak national unity

Tribalism is a weapon used to divide and rule us. It blinds us, turns us against each other, and keeps us distracted while real issues go untouched and unnoticed. Once we think as tribes instead of citizens, we lose the power to demand Accountability and Good Governance.

We must realize that above anything else, that in approaching our current national maladies, we must Abandon any kind of partisanship, be it POLITICALLY OR ETHNICALLY and allow our thinking and reasoning to be guided by complete objectivity and rationality

Our heart must be ruled by Goodwill and dedication to the rapid development of Nigeria, our approach must be direct towards social welfare for ALL and not based on tribal leanings and nepotism.

The number one duty of a Government is the welfare of her people, Oil subsidy was a good welfare policy. Nigerians are currently suffering from the ripple effects of the removal of oil subsidy,

The real crime was how the billions of naira earmarked for subsidy was diverted and Stolen through fake subsidy claim, These unscrupulous elements in the Government and oil industries smuggle our subsidized oil to other neighboring nations to sell at a massive price difference.

While the removal was absolutely necessary because of the strain on our economy, taking almost 40% of our revenue and also to curb this corrupt practices aforementioned, it should have been removed gradually instead of Abruptly in order to reduce the bitter strain on the citizens
