Less than 1 in 5 men in the U.S. are offered any paid paternity leave. Take the Pledge for Paternity Leave to help make paid leave the new standard. #PaternityLeavePledge

If you think this is an appropriate way to teach new medics airway management, and or that it’s appropriate to intubate someone like this. Just stop now. I’m 100% on board for US medics losing ability to intubate if this is the plan.

Im no fan of insurance companies -but I would not expect them to pay $100 for an aspirin ( actual cost to hospital 50 cents) I would not expect any person or insurance company to pay $50k for a 20 minute flight in a 25 year old Bell 206 providing basically ALS care

How is it that the "10 min fly circle" has become the standard for HEMS coverage? 10 min fly=approx 20 miles. HEMS should not typically be used for such short hops. These circles should be 2-3x the current diameter. With that-the gross oversaturation becomes even more apparent

Interesting -I have been blocked by @aams The Assn of Air Medical Services. The trade association for the US air ambulance industry. ? because I openly disagree with their basic philosophy of: More helicopters are always better -regardless of medical quality, safety or cost.

...and the legend of Abernethy grows still stronger. Mike Abernethy 🇺🇸 blocked by AAMS. Interesting choice. I suspect that AAMS may come to regret doing this. x.com/FLTDOC1/status…

Picard management tip: Empower others to command when you are unfit. You never know when your mind will be taken over by an alien.

Making your dying loved one a full code, intubating, doing chest compressions, invasive lines & inotropes until the out of town family can arrive to say goodbye is cruelty. There. I said it. Tell the others.

EM Rule 3.21: Regardless of where it occurs in the entire medical center complex, any inefficiency in patient flow or staffing will always trickle down and bite the emergency department right in the arse.
