Fun maths lesson for end of year! Don't froget 😉about the classic leaping frogs problem. Love doing this with Y4/5/6/7 and exploring problem solving techniques. 📝mrhilledu.live/frogs #mathsbtc #maths #problemsolving

Problem #9: Everyone says that maths exams are easy to mark... they really aren't Test yourself to see how accurately you can mark these student responses Each tweet has the question response and mark scheme and is followed by the poll for you to submit your answer ❌✅ 🧵🧵🧵

My Y3s mapped out all the numbers 1-100 using the 'if odd(+1) if even(1/2 it)' rule. They loved it and likened it to the Tokyo train network! Also the longest line starts with an unexpected number #mathsbtc #mathsenrichment

I get it, but the maths here by Mail+ is taking some liberties. Reading it that way makes it sound as if 2/5 is 42%, better if it stays 42% (about 2 in 5 people) or am I being pedantic? #mathschat

Increasing engagement and challenge in a mathematics lesson sometimes is just a tiny change. Fielker (1997) talked about completeness, challenging students to explore every possible outcome in order to better generalise and find efficient strategies. mrhilledu.live/ske

Add one extra square so that there exists at least one line of symmetry. Don says there are four solutions, I can only find three! Someone please help me. I don't think he would make a trick question. #mathchat #maths

Preparing some addition problem solving for challenge students in KS2/3 - a bit of Don and one of my own. I don't even know the answer to the last one, looking forward to exploring with the students! #mathschat #maths #mathschallenge 🌏mrhilledu.live/xql

Here's another way I make fluency sheets more interesting. Question Roulette. Choose 4 Qs from each section, When peer marking if they selected a winning Q and got it correct, they get 5 bonus points. #KS2maths #addition #mathschat

The Sorting Train. Also called the "attribute" or "classification" train. A fun activity/game for young learners. The idea is simple enough. Start a train with an item, or shape. It doesn't have to be mathematical, though that is a good place to start mathsbtc.com/2026/01/03/the…
