The Young Researchers in Mathematics conference takes place in Southampton from 23-26 July! The deadline for financial support and talk abstracts is on Monday 11th June. It's a great opportunity to meet other maths PhDs and learn more about different areas yrm2018.wordpress.com

Got talking to an elderly couple on campus today, and have now discovered a new favourite fruit! Mulberries from a white mulberry tree!! They also taught me about a black mulberry tree and medlars. A tasty (a slightly sticky) way to learn new things today

Can't stop thinking about this brilliant quote by mathematician Nalini Joshi: "I want to urge you to let the children play in mathematics so that they can become astronauts in the space of counterintuitive ideas." #SundayThoughts #math

Did luckily capture the very fleeting moment we were on “exactly” π million subscribers. And look at the time... Swear I didn’t notice this until afterwards. Total fluke.

My slide from #3MTsoton. As my brother said, “I like the Borromean rings. They’re like the Olympic Rings but with fewer values”
