In a previous school we changed 1-4 report grades to *, 1,2,3. Students and parents were happy with 1s being the std grade and * being rare/exceptional. Much better to have all 1s than when they had all 2s...which felt like a deficit. Psychology innit.

Today I heard this.. “I love teaching, but I hate my job and I’m a ‘teacher’!!!” Such a shame great members of staff feel this way!!!! I actually wanted to give her a hug but I think she may have cried!!! 💔

Empty desk at the back with all books on. Grab as come in, task on the board to start (over learning), any sheets by the books to grab. I have 2 green pens, 2 rulers and a glue stick per desk at the end unless still there you have to locate them. HK at the door. #mathschat

Teacher friends - How upset does being a media punchbag make you?!

I haven't marked a student's book in over three years. I haven't written a comment in a student's book in over three years. I haven't taken students' books home with me in over three years. In all that time, not a single student has complained. And I flipping love my school.

This looks like an academy trust adding 10 minutes onto the school day to comply with government’s 32.5hrs per week demands, but then giving an extra 5 days off at October half-term, because academies don’t have to follow the 190 day rules. If so: lol. eadt.co.uk/news/23441848.…
