Winter Meetings remind me of how much I miss Mel Antonen. Walking through a WM hotel lobby with Mel was like trying to walk through Yankee Stadium unnoticed with Babe Ruth. Everybody knew Mel and wanted to chat with him, and Mel graciously obliged. You are missed, my friend.

Rest in peace, Robert “Woody” Popik, who today lost his battle with pancreatic cancer at 58. Woody was the longtime DJ at O’s, Ravens and Navy, plus DJed weddings around Baltimore. A man who lived and loved life - and his friends - to the fullest.
