We are all human and we're all pretty much wanting the same thing. Look for peace in your family this year. Look for gratitude. Look for ways you can serve them.

Aging is really difficult. It's a challenge, right? You get up and you look at yourself in the mirror and it's like what's happening??? Even as an adult, when you start aging and you look at your kids and realize they're getting old. …That means I'm getting old too.

I think saying a prayer in the morning is one of the most empowering, wonderful things you can do. It's motivational, inspiring, it will make your whole day better. And if you do it consistently, you'll get in the habit of really adding a lot of gratitude and joy to your life.

Being married is the one great thing you did. So when one of you is letting off steam on the other know that’s because they feel safe with you and rather than you getting into it or reacting or getting mad, take a deep breath and depersonalize it. This is theirs, not yours.

Let your partner or your kids hear you talking well of them— reminding them what their gifts are. When you talk to your partner like that and your children, you get more of those of those behaviors that high character, that high purpose.

💜Your child is now an adult, and supporting them as a parent means encouraging them in their role as a mom or dad, and reminding them how fortunate your grandchild is to have them as parents. youtube.com/watch?time_con…

To build and encourage healthy, strong relationships, you must begin with the most important relationship of all - the one with yourself. Every relationship you will ever have depends upon your ability to understand and get along with yourself.

I think a lot of times the reason couples get discouraged or give up on their marriage too soon is because they experience personal failures.

🫢 When you use the silent treatment, you're actually speaking loudly with your actions and your actions are saying very loudly, 'I'm going to punish you. This is my way of controlling you and the situation. This is my way of avoiding important issues that we have to deal with.'

When you want your children to talk to you or open up, the worst thing you can do is look at your phone or have any other distractions. Sit down, color while they're talking or paint or crochet, do needlework or put a puzzle together. Be available, totally there for them.

We're always looking for a way to make our partner feel more loved or cherished by us. Work to do the little things, work for the micro moments. What can you do to change things?

God isn't going to come in and rescue you. God isn't going to take away your sorrow or your pain. He's not going to make your life blissful no matter how much you donate to the church. But God is there. He's there for you to talk to, strengthen you and give you hope.
