This morning on safari

We saw this leopard in a tree this morning on our safari ride.

On our safari ride yesterday. It is winter here and raining lightly for the past two days but the seats are heated and they give you a hot water bottle to put under your jacket.

Relaxing before the afternoon ride. I will live stream it in about three hours.

Our jeep was within five feet of this animal today. You could almost touch her. As long as you did not stand up in the vehicle you were safe. It was as if we were not even there, and she has cubs!

Spring is arriving in Africa.

Yesterday on safari

They sensed something possibly lions.

A pride of lions on a wart hog they just killed. These are all females with seven cubs.

African wild dogs at their den. These animals are endangered and very rare in Africa. Notice how close they allow us to get,

African wild dogs as one of the adults brings in food for the puppies. She regurgitated their dinner.

This is the view from my suite overlooking the bush. There are no fences around the lodge so any animal including elephants and lions could walk through those bushes at any time. Am I scared? Hell yeah but what a thrill?

Since this lodge is unfenced we are told that if a lion approached we are to wave our hands, yell at it as you back slowly into your room. Then call the front desk,
