Happy science fact of the day: It's a year since the first Imaging Neuroscience paper was published, with 280 papers since then. Hence in just the first year, over half a million dollars has stayed within academia, rather than going to Elsevier [shareholders etc].

Very elegant perspective article with important implications for the interpretation of fMRI *dysconnectivity* (plus it explains a lot of data we have generated in the lab...) 👇 nature.com/articles/s4146…

Feliz de haber participado en este importante trabajo para nuestra región publicado en Nature Medicine! La edad cerebral es sensible a disparidades sociales y se acelera en demencia. Orgulloso de BrainLat UAI.

What is the nature of sensory prediction error signals in the neocortex? Our research published in nature reveals that these error signals are amplified responses to unexpected inputs, mediated by a cooperative thalamocortical circuit mechanism! 1/4 nature.com/articles/s4158…

🎉Exciting news! Our lab's first paper, "Vocal labeling of others by nonhuman primates," is now published in @Science! 🐒 Dive into our findings on how marmoset monkeys use vocal labels similar to human names and dialects. Check it out! 1/6 science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

WOW - OHBM just put about 800 videos online including tutorials and symposia [1,2] from many years of past brain mapping meetings! youtube.com/@OHBM/videos [1] Some were there before but it looks like entire conferences were just added [2] I am not involved with this, just

On 9/11/73 a CIA backed coup overthrew the democratically elected government of Chile leading to decades of death and dictatorship. Here I am at the Museum of Memory in Santiago last year. The great singer/hero of the people Victor Jara was among the victims.

I really love writing Julia code, but it's hard to recommend to others due to all the little papercuts. One example: the LSP doesn't quite work if you decide to package your code into a local module and then call that in other scripts.
