I think this is the most useful, careful, and interesting account of Putin I've read since the war began newyorker.com/news/q-and-a/s…

Unfortunately this is all too common. AT need to have a change in focus to ensure our most vulnerable are not risking their lives on our roads.

Thread on how Amazon treats its workers Context: Amazon full-time warehouse employees make $31,200 a year. Jeff Bezos makes that every 12 seconds. Cost to give warehouse workers 2 weeks paid sick leave + pay bumps so they don't qualify for food stamps = 0.9% of Bezos' fortune

I wish people including media would stop saying we’re wasting millions on cycleways in Auckland & no one is using them. We’ve built barely any cycleways. Cities across Nz & the world are doing way more. Where they exist people use them. Where they don’t, people get hurt or die.

Moving from your own servers and infrastructure to cloud services offers a number of benefits. How is your company managing this? #digitalbanking #CloudComputing

Perhaps is time for a benchmark case against Auckland Transport to determine if they are negligent in failing to provide a safe cycling route. We can’t allow another life to be taken due to their inaction.

Finland also has a road toll rate that’s about half of New Zealand’s. This, combined with a similar approach for parking fines should see driver behaviour improve markedly.

This is madness. $500 fines for not paying for your bus ticket? Meanwhile, the maximum infringement fee for parking "in a way that is unsafe" is a paltry $60. Parking on a footpath is only a $40 fee. Can we sort this out please?

A recent Auckland Transport seminar on active transit was meant to be a positive affair. But the anonymous comments in the online chat told a different story. thespinoff.co.nz/society/28-02-…

Can you please clarify why you are expecting lower parking and enforcement costs Auckland Transport . These should both be expected to increase or you are not charging enough for parking and/or not enforcing the rules.
