I am on the legal academic job market! My job talk paper is on how courts in tax, corporate, and bankruptcy law spheres value business interests systematically differently, such that the same asset is "worth" different amounts of money depending on the substantive underlying law.

Andrew has an impressive JMP on how different areas of the law conduct valuation - and how they can learn from each other (for example, tax law learning from corporate law). He has other great papers too. Some school will be lucky to have him!

The main way that the US has been able to flourish despite its horrendous domestic K-12 education is because nearly every smart person across the world has wanted to come here and build. The recent 6 months has signaled a U-turn on the latter. The reckoning will be brutal.

An author contacted me today that they received a referee report citing a non-existing paper of mine co-authored with a non-existing co-author. Clear that their referee used GenAI to write their report and did not even bother checking references. Not good. 🤬
