I'm staying on in grad school to continue my dissertation, but I am (in theory) formally graduating from the law school in a ~month, so I am posting this as an accountability mechanism. If you see me post anything (including RTs) before May 14th, dunk on me mercilessly.

New for New York Magazine:

The 2nd woman hired to the brass section of New York Philharmonic, America's oldest orchestra, alleges she was raped by a colleague. She was not given tenure. Sources say she was offered an NDA. He remains in the orchestra. vulture.com/article/new-yo…

A cautionary tale about contracts. In an M&A deal, SELLER agreed to language that required it to pay BUYER net $77M (you read that right) after closing. Delaware law will generally enforce the parties’ chosen language, as the arbitrator did here. Read those contracts carefully!

It was fun working on this project alongside Andrew's parallel project on PPLI: papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cf…. The two are highly complementary. Andrew critiques the actuarial rules that distinguish insurance from investment; I critique the doctrine of who owns said investment.
