It was fun working on this project alongside Andrew's parallel project on PPLI: papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cf…. The two are highly complementary. Andrew critiques the actuarial rules that distinguish insurance from investment; I critique the doctrine of who owns said investment.

Very excited that Jeff’s article, on how private placement life insurance doctrine shatters taxation of accession to wealth, is up! The secret is out on PPLI and scholars and policymakers are responding. For more on that, stay tuned.
