Today I, alongside my colleagues, will introduce a motion to replace LAPD officers with unarmed, non-law enforcement agencies who will be responsible for responding to non-violent calls for service.

Seeing lots of praise for Polis in the replies/quotes. His signature is what made it law, but the bill is not his doing. It is the work of POC bill sponsors who collaborated with ACLU, Mari Newman and others to write it. That it was drafted at all is the work of protesters.

This artwork was a feat in the face of so many obstacles presented by the pandemic but at Poetic Kinetics bringing art to the people is our guiding light… we won’t stop! So pleased to have a hand in this work.

#DreamFlora was produced through the darkest days of the pandemic, installed through inclement weather, and is one of the most complex site specific installations Poetic Kinetics has ever done in a completely organic environment. In the end, it is absolutely one of my favorites.
