What does this change? Probably not that much. As mentioned, the CSC was already looking to regulate third party payments. An interesting stance from the Trump Administration though.

BREAKING: A federal judge today ruled that Kalshi is subject to Ohio sports betting law. Kalshi argued the federal Commodity Exchange Act preempts enforcement of Ohio law. Nope. These “prediction markets” have exploded and look an awful a lot like gambling. Big win for Ohio!

In the past MLBPA has sued sports books regarding the use of player likeness. A deal like this was bound to happen. But the recency of the Cleveland Guardians pitchers indictments for fixing games makes this interesting.
