Regardless of how the rest of the Senate, House & presidential elections turn out, I’m very pleased that my Virginia Senator Tim Kaine will continue to serve. I was proud to join him tonight in Richmond as I was there for his campaigns in 2018, 2012, and other earlier races.

Guess I retired from partisan politics and elected office just in time. Congratulations to all those who won tonight in both political parties. While I associate with another party, I hope that Republicans will govern for all Americans because we belong to one nation under God.

My first job on a presidential campaign was 1988 when we all knew by late summer that Governor Dukakis was going to lose. Nine presidential campaigns later, it's cruel to think that, again, we knew in the summer that we will lose, only to have our hopes up for a few months...

Two decades ago, I was one of only a handful of Korean American staffers inside the marbled halls of Senate chambers. In two months, that historic legislature will have a Member who shares my family name and heritage. Thank you Andy Kim for moving us forward another step.

Our founder, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, passed away this afternoon in Plains, Georgia.

I immigrated to the United States 44 years ago, on December 19, 1980, so I had the privilege of living under President Jimmy Carter for one month. Years later, I met him at an event and told him that I became an American under his watch. Well done, good and faithful servant.

I first met Joe Biden in 1988 as a Democratic Party staffer. l then worked with him in the 2000s as a Senate Judiciary Democrats 🇺🇸 staffer. Twenty years later, I was honored to serve in his presidential administration. He’s always been a fighter... Today, I wish him well as he faces his toughest fight.

I’m thinking of the Bidens as they take on cancer, a disease they’ve done so much to try to spare other families from. Wishing you a speedy, full recovery.
