Thinking of my old coworker Captain John McHugh on this Memorial Day. He who later killed in Afghanistan as a colonel. A great guy to be around and I was lucky to have known him. He lives on in the people he touched.

Tallinn Estonia has been great. Highlights include a very nice old town, hiking through a bog outside the city, a destroyed Russian T-72 in a museum (thanks Ukraine), and good craft beer. On to Latvia…..

Perfect weather in Latvia. Sorry to those flooded out in Bangkok. Sunny and warm here. A few pics - Cesis Castle in Cesis is stunning. Then a few Riga pics - Daugava River, Independence Monument and a house from 1645. Great city.

Lithuania to Germany the slow way. 20+ hours by ferry.

Highlights from 2 nights/1 day in Kiel Germany. Probably not my favorite city but a nice ferry ride to Laboe to see a U boat (submarine) which was simply amazing, a monument to the German navy and eat fischbrotchen (fish in a roll). On the high speed train to Nürnberg now.

Great day at the Great Dane Brewery in Sendai Japan. A piece of Wisconsin in Japan. Bratwurst, cheese curds, and beer. Unfortunately, I could not meet the Wisconsin brewers as they were hungover today and could not make it to work.

“I’m sorry I was twerking on Facebook” I was walking out of a Houston area store and some lady driving by was screaming into her phone and pleading with her man not to break up. Those were her famous last words as she sped away. Only me and one other guy witnessed it. 😂

Day 3 of the new United Airlines Hong Kong to Bangkok route. A beautiful sight. Great flight from LA to Hong Kong. Now on to Bangkok. Happy to see another option for trips back to USA.
