Thomas and I built his first real bike this weekend. Started from a bare frame and finished with a very capable full suspension mountain bike. Couldn't afford a $2500 bike, but was glad to show him how to make the same by rebuilding a used one.

Calling all parents... INSPIRE your kids while they are at home learning. Show them something that you do! Tori didn't have a pool slide for her house in BloxBurg, so we made a solid model of our neighborhood slide. Exposure to the real world has real value.

I promised myself that I would teach the kids basic skills before they graduate high school. The project based learning has begun! I will show them "the trades" as we finish the basement. Step 1 measure. And then measure again when the math does not work.

Why teachers are great... virtual school is done today, and I saw Tori in a small group video conference. She was playing "the teacher" to her friends. They ended, then got right back on and switched roles. A compliment to educators! Alston Ridge Middle School

So glad to be an involved parent this week! The PTSA partnered with Nay Orthodontics for 3 refrigerators, and families donated drinks/snacks! Just in time for the luncheon we hosted Wednesday. The Alston Ridge Middle School teachers/staff definately deserved it. Thanks parent volunteers!

Today's the anniversary of my brothers Bone Marrow Transplant for Leukemia. Rode 29 miles... 29 years since that day I donated. Took time to reflect on how fortunate I am and finished at a place of significance for me and my kids. Teachers give the greatest gift! Alston Ridge Middle School
