Today I joined the launch of the 10 Million Safer Births initiative in Tanzania, with UNFPA, Maternity Foundation (a Danish initiative), Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete Foundation (JMKF) and others. The Safe Delivery App has reached 455,000+ health workers. Goal: Reach less than 70 maternal deaths per 100,000 by 2030.

70% of all maternal deaths happen in Sub-Saharan Africa. This is not just a statistic, it’s a call to action. That's why we're supporting 10 million safer births under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Mary of Denmark: unf.pa/nis #MaternalHealth
