A1: We as educator need to create a better perception of our field. Make being an educator a valued profession. When you ask a high schooler what they want to do in the future…they say teacher!!! That's how districts can be proactive in recruitment and retention #satchat

An effective hiring process identifies the soft skills in an individual. 45% of bad hires lack the soft skills to be successful in any particular job, while only 11% are due to the hard skills required for the job. Find candidates that will build culture in the school. #satchat

A3: Think about…What makes you truly different from the other candidates? Why do you want to work in the specific district/school you applied for? Being truthful will let you find the best administrator for your needs and pedagogy philosophy. #satchat

A1: Review your expectations with your students before any activity that is not part of your typical routine. Also, have a few rules that are understood, and you can fall back on when things aren't going as planned. My two 1. Stay seated 2. Raise your hand to speak #Satchat

A2: Greet your students by name at the door and always have a do now/bell ringer. Keep it in the same spot on the board. Students should be putting pen to paper during this time.  You need to stress the importance of this activity so they dont become "do laters" #satchat

A1: Having a do now/bell ringers every day that uses the same agenda format. I found a great daily agenda template using Google Slides. The first 5 minutes of class runs itself now!!! #Satchat

A2: This sounds simple, but using formative assessments. I end every day with an exit activity. The fan favorite is Kahoot but I do like to keep it fresh. There are plenty of websites or ChatGPT to draw inspiration from. #Satchat

A3: To integrate positive expectations, I personally like to celebrate the small things. I try to catch my students doing the right thing. Just the other day, a student who is often late came to class before the bell. I’m sure everyone could hear my excitement! #Satchat
