So maybe she was in a foul mood. Who cares? He was still being a tosser. And maybe she was only doing what she usually does and pushing -

people away. But you know what? People were bad for you. It all looked pretty on the surface, but she had seen it all when she'd been -

growing up. The lies, the sneaking home with lovebites on necks. The arguments. God, the arguments. And the ornaments all broken.

It was better to get out now before any of that started.

Stomping her way round the supermarket, she filled her trolley with her own personal vice - cheesecake. Avoiding the wine isle because -

she had her pride and wouldn't drink herself stupid. But wouldn't getting a few small bottles prove that she could, unlike her parents, -

just have one? To relax. To unwind.

And yet something was in the back of her mind, holding her back. She wandered away, picking up fizzy grape juice. Some crackers and cheese.

Kitchen paper and deodorant that she didn't need. Vitamins because she'd been run down. And then without looking, a test to prove she was -

just cranky. It didn't count if you didn't look it. Throwing it into her own purse rather than in with the groceries and burying it deep.

You know, like she did with everything else.

Manages to sleep surprisingly well. Is exhausted.

Peeks.

Examines self in mirror. Decides it's time to go clothes shopping.
