80 years ago today my Dad walke’d onto the beaches of Iwo Jima at only 17 wondering when the shitstorm they were promised was going to start…. They didn’t have to wait long!! Dad was wounded 2 days later on 2/21 and then again on 2/26 landed on Okinawa 2 mo Later. miss ya Gunny
