Starmer supports the use of British armed forces to defend an Israeli regime that has murdered 14,000 children... and saves his most severe criticism for an Iranian regime that has killed precisely zero people.

David Roth-Lindberg Yemen is very poor but beautiful with some of the most stunning architecture. The poorer the person the more generous and hospitality is paramount. Outside interference and corruption ruined the politics. Everyone is armed but so never once felt threatened

David Roth-Lindberg Good post. I loved ten years in Yemen and know many of the factions and tribes. Nuance is not something out media understand as most just parrot from the same sources. I also worked with the UK gov and the IS. The US do have proxies and spend billions on them.

by the US, 'israel' and others, you will understand the situation better.

And ffs, please stop calling the Yemenis 'The Houthis'. The Houthis is just one group of several forming the leading coalition Ansarallah and the whole people are behind them.

enemies, their own struggles and objectives. They don't act on behalf of Iran, they act on behalf of their own interests, on their own people's will and for their own survival.

Read some history about Yemen and Lebanon, and how badly they have been treated

I disagree about calling Hezbollah and Yemen proxies to Iran. They are NOT. The USA has proxies. The US orders other countries to do their bidding, mostly by installing corrupt governments acting even against their own people's will.

But Lebanon and Yemen have their own

If they really wanted to highlight the global state of emergency in journalism, they could have dedicated a whole issue to all the Palestinian journalists that have been killed.

That’s an emergency. Not their armchair performative self aggrandisement.

people tend to nod off when discussion turns to Ukrainian demographics, but it's both very interesting as a historical 'proxy' and for assessing pool of young men expected to fight to 'last Ukrainian'. Here is population pyramid labeled by birth year.

STOP DEMANDING THAT I PAY TO 'PROTECT' THESE COUNTRIES. Taiwan is fine. Ukraine was stupid enough to threaten its big neighbor & become a pawn of anti-Russia US/NATO ambitions. Genocidal nazi Israel can go to hell.
