In Kelowna there was a little trail like this. I would walk there whenever I felt lonely and it would always make me feel so loved.I think about how as an Afghan: nature is imbedded into our poetry and songs so much. Therefore, this set a blueprint for it to be my healing ground.

There is a lot about the world that is changing: social media usage, for instance. Our rules and systems within schools must also adapt to these changing circumstances. We can not uphold rules for a reality that no longer exists.

I see many educators (myself included) frustrated at the new generation. It is in these times that I ask myself: what can I do to understand my students and their perspective better while still being able to send my message to them? How do we fill this gap without judgement?

Whenever I take too much on and my life becomes so busy.. my anxiety just gets so intense. I need to remember I am not built for that pace. I know some people can manage but I simply can’t and that’s okay. #takecareofyourself
