I visited the #Torkham border crossing and spoke with Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa. It was an important opportunity to thank Pakistan for passage of Can. cit. and vulnerable Afghans on route to Canada. I underscored Canada’s ongoing commitment to regional security & stability.

I had productive meetings in Pakistan at Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Pakistan with FS Sohail Mahmood. We advanced our shared priorities and discussed our interest in evolving our strong bilat. relations to include an economic focus. We will continue to work together on regional security & stability.

I held insightful discussions in #Pakistan with international and civil society organizations about the crisis in #Afghanistan and its impact on neighbouring countries. #Canada remains committed to helping the most vulnerable.
