The Marlins are scrappy and pesky. Credit to them. But the overreaction here is that the Yankees have spent a small army of decent prospects the last three years trying to build a bullpen and have very little to show for it.

Never been a fan of Jazz Chisholm. Didn’t want the Yankees to acquire him, not my kind of player, and that’s with recognizing the physical gifts, talent, and potential. Would love to eat these words, but he’s been the version of the player I don’t like so far.

No offense, no closer, and a second baseman who's better at talking than playing baseball. At least the June swoon is hitting in April.

The Yankees could reasonably be 14-0 and instead are 8-6. Winning records aren't supposed to feel bad, but this team may test Brian Cashman's words. When he says it all comes down to starting pitching, perhaps that's only when you have a lineup that can hit and a reliable pen.

It’s not good for business when you try to get fans emotionally invested in players who make millions of dollars to play a game and those players don’t even make an effort to know the rules. Disenchanting.

Could be the first blowout of the season, and that's with Cam Schlittler on the mound. Any thoughts of this team being different from the previous versions are out the window.

It's a very Yankee thing to sign a guy like Grichuk, who would be in the Hall of Fame if he only played against the Yankees, and have him go hitless on the season.

The Yankees used to be able to put bullpens together every year. Those days are over. Year two of having a bullpen I wouldn't trust with any lead.

Premature to say this team is cooked, of course, but we are in the territory where the bullpen has to do a 180 to give them a chance at the division, and where exactly would you get the confidence that is going to happen? They've also spent about 20 prospects trying to build it.
