Sure - it’d be nice if the Palestinians could be part of Eurovision one day - but the last time Palestinians entered a music festival it was to rape, murder, torture and kidnap children. That’s a big nil points for me.

Thanks to my connection with the American Jewish Press Association, I have just come across this beautiful, award-winning piece of writing about two friends, kindness and how we treat those who are different to us. Very moving. Chag Shavuot Sameach: ijn.com/byron-and-norr…

Not sure how the Tories’ Hendon candidate Ameet Jogia will resonate with voters seeing him cruise through constituency in his huge white Tesla with ostentatious personal number plate during election fought partly on cost of living crisis… not that it matters much now I guess…

That's a very solid speech outside No 10 from Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Maybe this is what the country needs, leadership that is dull but potentially steely? Less noise. More action. The government has got a massive challenge ahead - the whole country needs it to succeed.

Devastated to see what is happening at the newspaper I served with dedication for a decade alongside wonderful colleagues. Direction of past few years has raised eyebrows - but this fiasco is on a new level. Not sure how an editor survives such disgrace; credibility shot to bits

Watching City this season is the most bizarre experience. Sunday League one minute, world beaters the next. Are you not entertained Acun Ilıcalı? Not sure my blood pressure can take it… #hcafc

This is dire beyond words. Hard to see any coming back from this - and I don’t just mean this afternoon. Could get very ugly for Walter at the KCOM in the next hour. And deservedly so. #hcafc

ICRC were merely taxi drivers - did nothing of use for 15 months then turned up at last second and stood back while terrorists manhandled our women. An Uber driver would at least have had the decency to intervene.

Specially for David Lammy and Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office - this is Emily - the British citizen you didn’t protect whilst she was a hostage. The one you didn’t introduce a UN motion about. The one you mentioned 3 times in 471 days - each time in response to a question from another MP.

JWS shouldn’t have kept his job after the fabrication fiasco of last autumn. And now he hasn’t. Hopefully signals a return to the JC aligning itself with the views of the mainstream Jewish community, but that might be asking a lot…

This is painful to watch from #hcafc. Almost totally dominant and yet posing no threat. No penetration. No ingenuity. No atmosphere. Working hard and yet for what? Arguably worse than last Tuesday. Grim. Baz Cooper David Burns
