Marcus Deveso Thoughtful question. The challenge is the pursuit of “wokeness” - a term that is ambiguous & grossly overused. The work is in knowing & being yourself & using your privilege to meet the needs of youth being harmed in/by systems. Be you in the service of those other than you

We cannot celebrate the transformative power of hip-hop without highlighting its deep flaws. To love our culture is to hold each other accountable & work towards making our entire community whole #HipHopEd

As a white male, I'd say to other white males that the idea that we are oppressed is incomprehensibly ridiculous and ignorant of real oppression. Open your eyes, learn, care, and then get to the table to use our white male privilege to help create policy that's equitable for all.
