Google reminded me about this 1k citation milestone today. Carried so hard by my co-authors here. Glad for all the opportunities to do science together and add to the knowledge of this world we live in. scholar.google.com/citations?user…

🦇🎣🦇 Happy to share our study on 🐟fish-eating 🦇#bats! Our findings reveal, for the first time, that Rickett's big-footed #myotis (Myotis pilosus) consumes marine fishes. It consumes more 🐠fish during the dry season, and more 🦋insects during the wet months.

Just learnt about this Singapore-made animation about a zombie apocalypse starting in a zoo. Finally, a genre that merges two of my favourite things: zombies and zoology! Plus, they feature a native carnivoran: the southern palm civet. youtube.com/watch?v=U7E6OY…

I’d like to thank this reviewer who completed their review of our manuscript in one day (!); even before the other invited reviewer responded. [just hoping it wasn’t a negative one 🤣]

I thought it'll be a uniquely Singapore thing, but someone else found leopard cats on reclaimed land—in South Korea! Lee et al. (2025) tracked leopard cats on grassland and rice fields but they seem to avoid areas of human use. Adapted 🛰️maps by me. doi.org/10.1007/s13364…

Super fascinating Han et al. (2025) found leopard cats occupied human settlements in China for 3,500 years before domestic cats in ~600 CE. Evidence: ancient DNA and this cute 168 BC supposed leopard cat painting. Also, a co-author's name is Miaomiao. doi.org/10.1101/2025.0…

A vital genomic resource for the critically endangered Mountain bongo—fewer than 100 left in the wild—led by PhD student Karen Holm. This iconic African species is managed under the AZA SSP. 🧬 academic.oup.com/g3journal/adva…
