🇪🇺🇲🇽 - A few days before Trump's inauguration, the EU and Mexico have just signed a trade deal - the agreement ticks all the boxes, covering de-risking supply chains, boosting the supply of critical raw materials and tackling climate change bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Why does "import electricity" have such a negative connotation only with this specific country? Looks like many others "cannot assure constant energy supply" without imports, and to a much larger extent than Germany. And should such a negative connotation also apply to fuels?

đź‘€ This will be critical to watch. We knew it could make things hard to administer, but the administration is basically seizing Congressional authority here

Pre Trump, the Republican party view of energy sources was "all of the above" With Trump, the Republican party's view of energy sources is "only the above ones that we like" Also, I suppose the White House suspended the first law of thermodynamics by executive order.

Donald Trump halts more than $300bn in US green infrastructure funding Unlike the money in the loans office, the IRA’s tax credits — the main form of subsidy in the legislation — are unlikely to be affected. ft.com/content/fcaf50…

The EU’s CBAM is functioning as intended. It’s disappointing to see the EPP, which initially supported it, now seeking to delay its implementation—causing unnecessary uncertainty for investors and trade partners.

Missing part: Norway makes money out of it. Also, interconnectors allow it to import cheap power from the EU when prices are low, contributing to replenish Norwegian water reservoirs. Nothing good to come out from energy isolationism.

Cobalt is one of those "critical minerals" that people talk about as being so crucial, so strategic... But the reality is the market is massively oversupplied: prices have plunged to a 20-year low, prompting a top producing nation to stop exports. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

How disinformation about rare earths and Ukraine spreads. Here, a United Nations document talking complete BS. So many errors. Dubious sourcing. And, above all, complete lack of knowledge of basic chemistry. unric.org/en/rare-earths…

what is a "growth-oriented voter"? is that an identity that anyone has? just like, committed to 'growth' in the abstract? growth of anything: GDP, fossil fuels, military weapons, affordable housing, clean energy... like these voters are happy as long as everything is increasing??
