My son’s middle school has an interesting take on grading, They use a 1-4 scale instead of A-F, and many of the teachers allow/encourage students to redo assignments and assessments if they aren’t happy with their scores.

High-quality sexuality education has the power to change - and save - lives. It takes time, skill, and expertise. A “special presentation in the auditorium“ is not enough. #SexEd #HealthEd

You should be discussing gender privilege in your sex Ed classes. Can you walk together with your s.o. and not receive stares? When you go to an event, do you worry about using the bathroom safely? Can you show a picture of your s.o without fear of condemning questions?

Great book. Distracted: Why students can’t focus and what you can do about it, by James Lang. Attention Andy Milne . Could be a discussion book

Organizations should be on the same page when promoting school health. They are not all included here which should not be the case. Here is another link to the National Health Standards schoolhealtheducation.org

Honored and surprised to receive the Lifetime Achievement award from the Illinois School Health Association. Thank you for thinking of me!
