I am looking for a solution to preinstalling the dependencies of OpenCode when I build a container. Currently happens on first run. Any cli options ?

would be great of OpenCode could add a "potential cost" for the free models, specially the free ones on Zen. I remember that nothing is free, so this will provide a good benchmark for future planning. Amp provides a cost with the ad supported version.

I was on the ground, fixing it for all the machines and floppy disks I had. And people I handled tech for. It was a pain. But, when I stand here now, it was one of the most interesting things of those times. Challenged the conventional. I learnt too.

Why does GitHub copilot not offer open source models for cheaper multipliers ? The Free plan can benefit significantly. And the $10 plan will go a longer way for everyone.

I have never seen GitHub Copilot Auto mode use a free model for my conversations. Am i giving it complex questions, or is there a trust issue with their 0x models and their recommendation engine. It seems to like Haiku and Codex 5.3 most. Not complaining about the output.

I average about 60 requests every day on my GitHub Copilot Pro+ subscription, normally with 3-4 parallel sessions working. Today, for the first time, my VSCode Insider told me i have hit a rate limit. With no details on the wait time before unlock. Pierce Boggan

Something is going on at GitHub copilot. With Copilot Pro +, I see a snail pace response from Sonnet 4.6. Switching to Haiku 4.5 brings the speed. But really ... this kind of rate limiting and throttling ?

So happy to see @GitHub Copilot CLI history finally show up in the VSCode Insider Sessions history. The integrations are rapidly falling into place. Looking forward to more news. Pierce Boggan

Out of all the AI vendors, only OpenAI ChatGPT offers Indian Rupee pricing. It is surprising that even with India being a very large market for GitHub ( about 27 million users if i remember from their presentation ), they do not offer self serve with Indian pricing with GST.

MandrakeTech (@mandraketech) 's Twitter Profile Photo

An expected move. JetBrains, Cursor, OpenCode, Droid, all need to pay API pricing. The fact that I can run a agentic loop with 3m tokens ( 30k input, 10k output , rest cache ), for $0.04 (Sonnet, GPT xhigh) was good. I am hoping plan details will change closer to 1st June 2026

Is there a 'Code Completion' and 'Next Edit Suggestion' extension for VS Code that will allow BYOK ? I have always found Continue is too flexible, and that makes the core use case configuration too complex. Any other editor that will do it. I will switch to IntelliJ otherwise.
