This video demonstrates how we perform distal anastomosis to the aorta during a TCRAT-CABG procedure. Here, you can see the ascending aorta through the left anterior thoracotomy in the 4th ICS. This visualization is achieved with the help of the angled "Idol" retractor branches.

Fixing the #dissection involved removing the cannula, finding a healthy spot and confirming the healthy aorta #aortaed (this is how you prevent a subadventitial hematoma from propagating to a full #aortic dissection!). Operation proceeded normally and patient did well.
