Kept thinning about Barbieland and how perfectly Greta created a unique but familiar world. Led me to her production designer, Sarah Greenwood, and her set designer, Katie Spencer. Thought this was fascinating. They figured out that Barbie is 23% bigger than her space.

In light of Danielle Smith's loser-can't-do-attitude on moving from fossil fuels to clean electricity in Alberta, worth re-upping the The Globe and Mail's editorial from last week...

I also don't get why the AUC would need to request the government to institute a pause on AUC approvals. If the AUC wants to pause its own approvals, or wants to consider land use, or wants to worry about most anything else under Rule 007, they can almost certainly do so.

"Smith told reporters in Calgary today the Alberta Utilities Commission and the Alberta Electric System Operator wrote to the government on July 21 asking for a pause. But neither letter asks for such a moratorium." #ableg #abpoli calgary.ctvnews.ca/alberta-premie…

The only thing that could have made that press conference more inane is if the Premier had taken questions wearing the official Government of Alberta donair costume. #ableg

Danielle Smith said she was "disappointed" in media for not highlighting two agencies' letters about the need for a 7month freeze on wind and solar. OK, so we reread the letter ... they don't say what she believes: cbc.ca/news/canada/ca…

"Smith said the 7-month pause started because the Alberta Utilities Commission & the Alberta Electric System Operator, or AESO, wrote to government asking for it. However, neither letter asks for a moratorium." Everything she says has to be fact-checked. cbc.ca/news/canada/ca…

Just a reminder that since Ms Smith took office last October the RRO rate for electricity (34% of Albertans) is up 200%, the cheapest contract available is up 167%. This despite no increases in NGAS prices. This👆$ hike is more than any forecast with net zero. #ableg #abpoli

I think it is deeply hypocritical of the Premier to say “it’s 6 months” when asked about the jobs impact of this poorly thought out moratorium. Can you imagine what would happen if this moratorium on energy development extended to oil and gas and that was her comment?

Mike Roman, Stephen Harper’s IDU co-chair who was just indicted along with Trump in Georgia yesterday and worked on Andrew Scheer’s election campaign in 2019, was at the Ottawa occupation too. It was never about mandates. Lock this clowns up.
