There is a lot of work done investigating if #lynx reintroduction to Britain would be possible, but what about Ireland? Does Ireland have enough suitable habitat to support the reintroduction of the Eurasian lynx? 🐈 Colin Guilfoyle mammal.org.uk/2023/01/ecolog…

During May 19th – 28th, Irish Enviro Network will run #BiodiversityWeek in Ireland 🇮🇪 We will tweet preliminary results from our wildlife #CameraTraps as part of the huge collaborative project "Snapshot Europe 2022" In 2021, we had 10,000 photos. In 2022, we had almost 100,000!

I don't think I have ever seen a stoat! Great way to help nature! Camera trapping may help too MammalNet Ireland

Check out these fantastic Irish stoat photographs and record submitted by mark shorten. This stoat is perfectly demonstrating the classic mustelid elongated tube-like body and short legs. Plus the black tail-tip characteristic of stoats!

Happy Friday all! Today I ( Adam F. Smith 🇺🇦 ) will talk about cameras traps (trail cameras) again, and why they are such powerful tools for monitoring animals! Also, YOU can buy and use one! All Irish photos in this thread, from county Wicklow. Hope you have a drink! 📸 1/n

Citizen science initiative exists which allow you to contribute YOUR camera trap photos and videos to nationwide efforts. @mammalweb and MammalNet Ireland are where to start. Otherwise send me a message (Adam F. Smith 🇺🇦) or leave a comment! 7/n

Submit your sightings of Irish stoat to help us understand population size and distribution of this elusive carnivore. RoI: biodiversityireland.ie/surveys/irish-… NI: www2.habitas.org.uk/records/submit… Notice Nature Ireland - NPWS Biodiversity Ireland
