20 years ago, industrial electronic audible #alarms generated sounds using basic electronic components, and it took 3 months to develop a new sound and send a sample. Now, a new #Sound can be made in 1 day by changing the software, and a sample sent the following day.

Mallory is seeing an uptick in companies using our #hazardous alarms which are qualified to Class I Div 2 Groups A, B, C, & D. Applications seeing increase usage include the oil industry, #hydrogen operations such as re-fueling or refining, and #gas operations.

In 1974, Mallory manufactured a piezo seat-belt alarm that GM used in several #Buick models. This is the only Mallory alarm designed into a car application. 49 yrs later, the #alarm still works & emits a pulsing sound. On a GM surplus website, a similar alarm is listed for $95.

In 1973, a Mallory metal can #Alarm was introduced. You can tell these were developed by a capacitor company because of the use of metal and the twist tab terminal configuration which was used with aluminum electrolytic capacitors. These are obsolete now, but live on at Ebay.

Wet Tantalum #capacitors were manufactured by Mallory for many years. Vishay took over the Mallory Wet Tantalum product line in 2000, and while MTP capacitors are now obsolete from Vishay, Mallory sells equivalent capacitors with our TS5 Capacitor Series. tinyurl.com/97wj2hdb
