When I speak on campus, I ask what % of the pro-Palestine protesters are Jewish. Usually, Jews are overrepresented. Sometimes they're the largest identity group. Maybe folks calling for cracking down on protesters in the name of Jewish safety should consider their safety too

It's surreal to see scenes at NYU and Columbia of beautiful and peaceful Jewish Pesach (Passover) Seder gatherings in solidarity with Gaza, and then read the news media vilifying peaceful protestors and infantalizing students more generally. Thanks for this moving pic Simone Zimmerman

The United States should be doing everything it can to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East and to impose a regional ceasefire that includes Gaza. Sending billions of dollars in weapons to Israel is the opposite.

Thank you to those who voted NO on weapons to Israel today.

Unfortunately I can't make it to American Association of Geographers this year, but I will be joining an otherwise in-person panel virtually. If you're going to be in Honolulu, check out our panel with Hiba Bou Akar, Jennifer Greenburg, Erin Collins, Dalia Wendel, Ali Musleh, and Caitlin Blachfield:
