Universities literally attract & send off students under banner: “change the world” & now invite police to brutalize their students for trying to do just that. Notably the same administrations exclaimed at whose core is a critique of police & prisons

In Mexico we have this saying in social movements that I think we can see today with students’ encampments: “They took so much from us that they took away our fear.” 🔥✨❤️‍🔥

Nope, the protests have not led to the arrests. The arrests are the result of concerted decisions by administrators across campuses. Nothing natural or inevitable about the arrest of non-violent protestors.

The absolute DISGUST i feel about Princeton University ARRESTING and EVICTING two students already. Tents were up for less than 7 minutes and this is their response. If you feel that disgust too, email the admin and Eisgruber NOW here—> bit.ly/princetongaza

I love how folx think students aren't learning because they're not in a physical classroom. Have ya heard of land-based learning? It's a huge part of Indigenous pedagogy, literally how we've passed knowledge for centuries. These students are embodying their learning right now.

The children in the mass graves had their hands zip tied behind their backs.

The doctors in the mass graves had their hands zip tied behind their backs.

They were executed en masse, 300 of them.

300 people who people who lived, breathed, loved, laughed, mattered.

As a former member of a student social movement in Mexico and now as an educator, I am always in awe in how students have the capability of imagining new worlds. Our role as educators is to expand and protect those voices.

Remembering Manuel 'Tortuguita' Teran. An Indigenous queer and non-binary environmental organizer, born on this day. They would have been 28. Murdered by the police for being a forest defender in the Stop Cop City Movement. Salute!!!

Langston Hughes attended Columbia. He was denied a dorm room because he was black. From his poem, Kids Who Die:

This is for the kids who die,
Black and white,
For kids will die certainly.
The old and rich will live on awhile,
As always,
Eating blood and gold,
Letting kids die
