The fight against #kalazar is not over. Cases continue to emerge even as India makes progress toward its elimination. Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative organised training for ASHAs who play a critical role in spreading disease awareness and enabling #access2meds at Referral Hospital Rupauli, Purnea, Bihar.
In the training 71 ASHAs learned to identify kala-azar and #PKDL and were informed about the second Centre of Excellence for VL that is coming up at Sub Divisional Hospital in Dhamdaha, Purnia with support from nvbdcp-mohfw Bihar Health Dept ICMR-RMRIMS.
Ahead of the launch of Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative's new Centre of Excellence for VL at Dhamdaha in Purnea, Bihar we organized a training for local healthcare professionals on #kalaazar diagnosis and treatment #BeatNTDs
To support the Indian government's last-mile elimination of #kalaazar, Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative has established two Centres of Excellence in Bihar. A Dengue Awareness Workshop was organised by Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative along with KING GEORGE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY, LUCKNOW, UP, INDIA at Lucknow today to spread awareness about dengue that is fastest emerging vector borne disease in the word. it witnesses around 150 frontline health workers, medical professionals, and communities.
