Marina Purkiss These are "Community Larders" which aren't food banks. Anyone can use them regardless of income. You pay a small fee and may do limited shops of food which is short-date or expired, supplied by local retailers.
Marina Purkiss We shouldn’t be arguing the toss over whether this is an appropriate way to run a #FoodBank but why the fuck we even have food banks in a G7 country at all ! Can someone remind me how many there were in 2010? Trussell Trust had 35. They now have 1300! Tells you everything YNTK!
Marina Purkiss That’s how a lot of food banks operate nowadays. My sister has volunteered in food banks for more than five years. Some were ‘pay what you can’ or nothing but that could not be sustained with little/no budgets, so a charge per bag came in. They get a fair supply in there.

Aylesham Community Action Miatta Fahnbulleh Peckham Vision What is perhaps most disturbing about THIS article is that it is TEN YEARS OLD. Anyone in power who claims they still do not know what is happening is likely to be being Extremely Economic With The Truth. theguardian.com/cities/2014/se…
Aylesham Community Action Peter barber Miatta Fahnbulleh Peckham Vision Jasmine Ali Cllr Helen Dennis The only modification I would suggest to that is in item 3. Change to acquire 150,000 houses per year after all the developers are sitting on a lot of empty ones.
“Water company plans £89m shareholder payout despite sewage conviction.” And that boys & girls is how it works We can spend £91.6m fixing the sewage works or dump that sh*t into the nearest river, pay a £2.6m fine and give the rest to our shareholders. telegraph.co.uk/business/2024/…
