Per usual, I see a lot of people say “free Congo” as an add on to being called out for only caring about one cause at a time, but there’s rarely any information being shared about what’s happening in the DRC. so I will attempt to coherently explain (a 🧵):

I will now attempt to explain what’s happening in Sudan so everyone can understand why we are saying to free them (a 🧵):

These battles are scattered throughout the country, killing and displacing millions of civilians. These stats are from April ‘24 and have only increased since then. Many Sudanese people are trying to flee to neighboring countries with their loved ones and die in the process.

All this to say, more attention should go to Sudan as well as the other crises happening right now. Research ways to help within your means (like spreading info). Don’t pick and choose which causes are more “worthy” of your support and recognition. Do what you can.
