As a rule, if you find a part, the engineering that goes into the manufacturing process is 10-100x as complex as the engineering that goes into the design. America has forgotten this.

the yankees hired a single smart guy to think about baseball bats for a year and he fundamentally changed the game forever the efficient market hypothesis is an total lie. the most important problems in the world go unsolved because no one spends the time to think about them

If you’ve seen what’s coming soon in battery performance, the necessity of multi-MW charging capabilities is self evident

The stringency of the Foreign Entity of Concern rules for 45X/45Y/48E is brutal. If I’m reading correctly, receipt of any “material assistance” from a FEOC--defined as any component, subcomponent, critical mineral, assembly part made by or patent or copyright held by a FEOC

There is no energy infrastructure without foreign components, so this is either entirely for show and they’ll let everything through on waivers, or it’s a kneecapping of energy project development across the spectrum.

Some room for disagreement on appropriate action and fixes, but this is a much bigger issue than just inverters and transformers.

I am begging people to understand that the IRA and BIL were National Security legislation that happened to have climate benefits. Crippling our already hampered ability to build new energy projects fast is going to make sure we lose any future conflict.

Just in case this isn't overwhelmingly obvious by now... - U.S. needs to make batteries - centralized generation and grid infrastructure *CANNOT BE RELIED ON* Do you know how long it takes to replace a substation transformer? How about 100,000? We need to bury, harden, and
